A root canal can save your tooth
In our Macomb County, Michigan dental offices, we practice endodontics and provide root canals using modern rotary instruments and a warm gutta percha technique.
While many people cringe at the term “root canal,” this dental procedure is a very good thing – root canals are the way to save a tooth. The root canal is where the tissues and nerves of your tooth are housed. Should a tooth’s pulp become diseased or injured it will die, ultimately leading to infection. Endodontics is the necessary course of treatment.
The root canal procedure may take one to three visits to complete. The treatment involves going through the crown of the tooth to remove the diseased or dead pulp. The root canal is then cleaned and shaped so that it can be filled and sealed using the warm gutta percha technique. This prevents infection from setting in. We then place a porcelain crown over the remaining tooth to strengthen it.
By offering endodontics in our Michigan dental practices, we are able to provide root canals as well as treat dental trauma and cracked teeth.
We don’t just restore teeth with our restorations and bonding – we restore confidence. You’ll be a new you with a revitalized grin and stunning smile makeover.
If you’re feeling serious tooth pain, make your appointment today in our Shelby Township dentist office or St. Clair Shores dental office so we can determine if you are in need of a root canal or other dental procedure.
